Green Ideas is an award winning design and construction company based in East Cork. It was set up in 2020 by Mark Hoey after his success in winning RTE’s Supergarden. Mark has over 18 years experience in the landscape industry working with award winning landscape companies both in Ireland and abroad. Green Ideas is his opportunity to take this experience and the passion he has for landscape design and construction and use it to create beautiful gardens for people to enjoy as much as he enjoys building them. Our aim is to create imaginative and beautiful gardens built to the highest standard. We work with our clients to provide the best possible service and create a garden that works for them and suits their budget while trying to be as creative as possible with the design. Our friendly and passionate staff will be with you all the way from the initial design stage right up to the garden handover to ensure that any of your queries or worries along the way can be answered promptly and professionally.
We had a very challenging site with large banks covering most of the area, Mark and Mick came in and transformed the area with a mass planting scheme full of the most beautiful shrubs providing year round interest for us to enjoy. Mark listened to what we wanted and provided a design that looked great but also provided a garden that is functional and practical for our familly. Mark was professional throughout and himself and Mick were really enjoyable company for the 3 weeks they were there, i would love to bring him back again in the future.
Mark and Mick were so lovely to work with and very professional from the outset. They designed and created a beautiful garden space for all the family to enjoy. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Mark and Mick did a great job transforming not just our garden but the whole site by building retaining walls with access steps to the embankment where we now grow fruit and veg and installing a new patio area which is a fantastic space for entertaining. We are delighted with the finished results and enjoy a lovely summer planting scheme with some autumn and winter interest too.
